Wing Skating with Christoph - Erlangen, Bavaria

My name is Christoph, I am 54 years old and come from Erlangen in southern Germany, Bavaria.

I started windskating with a selfmade big kite, but it didn't work. Then I mounted a surf sail on a skateboard. I rode it, but not very fast. Also, the maneuverability was very limited.

Then we, my sons and I, discovered wingfoiling on the water. Then it was obvious to try it on land. On land, I mainly use a 5.3 sqm wing and a longboard, which I have pimped with a waterborn axle. With it I can get up to 40 Kmh fast, but also do very tight maneuvers. My goal is speeds above 40 kmh.

I like wind around 15 knots best, as it is not constant in my region, I have to be satisfied with gusty winds. I also lack a flat, wider than a road, to be able to do tacks and gybes at higher speed.

It is important for starters to pay attention to safety. I always use a helmet, gloves and back armor. But just try it yourself!
